Usama Farage started competing at the age of 15 in bodybuilding competitions, placing first in his weight class and in the overall category in many teenage competitions At the age of 19 Usama won the NPC bodybuilding competition to become Mr. Teenage San Jose, going on to placing in the top three at the NPC California State Championships.

What makes his win even more impressive is knowing that when he was 17 years old, Usama was wheelchair bound, recovering from a major automobile accident which broke his back and left him with a 12-inch metal rod in his spine. (Detailed in one of the photos to the left)

Usama has first hand knowledge on training around injuries, for rehabilitation as well as for winning competitions This knowledge is put to good use in the personal training business that he began after winning his teenage championships.

In 2003, Usama returned to competition, placing first and overall in the NPC San Jose Bodybuilding Championships. In 2005 Usama again won first and overall in the NPC San Francisco Bodybuilding Championships. He also won first place in the NPC Sacramento Bodybuilding Championship. Usama has been a qualified national bodybuilding competitor since 1994.

Usama has academic training in nutrition as well as a wealth of personal experience that he used to get himself to an incredible 3% body fat for competitive bodybuilding. In his personal training business, Usama has used his knowledge of nutrition not only to have clients win first place competitions, but also coached clients who started out as obese to lose (some over 100) pounds in a safe and healthy way, and he has taught them how to keep it off.

Usama has also worked with professional athletes, including Tommy Vardell of the San Francisco 49ers. He has trained many women competitors to first place finishes in figure competitions. His training and nutrition programs have proved effective for professional athletes, competitive bodybuilders, figure competitors and the everyday person looking to reach his or her ideal weight.
